A nice example of the 1858 Flying Eagle Cent. Minted only three years, the flying eagle  is not uncommon except for examples with great detail. In 1856 very few, less than 2000 and not for circulation, were minted and it is priceless to find one but the mint struck 17.5 million of them in 1857 and even more in 1858. One of the shortest lived issues of US coinage due to a copper shortage for the Large Cent.

This example is a Fivaz-Stanton variety, Laege Letters w/ Low Leaves.
